Tutorial

Create and configure a status page

Start with the essentials—name, components, and branding—then dive into advanced options like error budgets, embeds, and signed share links.

1) Create the page

  1. Open Dashboard → Status pages and click New status page.
  2. Give it a name, slug, and optional custom domain.
  3. Select the monitors/components to display. Group by product, region, or dependency.

2) Configure essentials

  • Branding: upload logo, pick accent colors, and set header/footer links.
  • Error budget: choose the budget percentage to display to visitors.
  • SEO & embeds: set title/description/OG image so links look good on Slack/Discord.
  • Access: keep public or generate signed share links for private stakeholders.

The page fetch is streamed: visitors see page metadata first, then top components, then the rest.

3) Publish and test

  1. Click Publish. The page is edge-cached for fast loads.
  2. Open the public URL (or signed link) in an incognito window to confirm.
  3. Embed the link in docs, Slack channels, or your website footer.
