Create and publish an incident

Document outages quickly, notify stakeholders, and keep timelines in sync on your status page.

1) Start the incident

  1. Open Dashboard → Incidents and click New incident.
  2. Provide a clear title, affected components, and current state (Investigating or Identified).
  3. Set impact and add an initial update for customers.

2) Publish to status pages

  • Choose which status pages should display the incident.
  • Save and publish—linked pages update immediately with the incident banner and timeline.
  • Use the “Hide monitors” toggle on public pages if you want visitors to focus on the incident card.

3) Post updates until resolved

  1. Add timeline updates as you mitigate. Mark the state to Monitoring or Resolved when appropriate.
  2. Updates appear instantly on public pages and in embeds.
  3. After resolution, leave a root-cause summary for historical uptime proofs.
